Why we or I do this?
Ideology and passion
I (Utu) started this project from the passion that I have had for more than 20 years. I came from a middle-class family somewhere outside the US. I have experienced everything from prejudice, injustice, and inequality since I was a kid.
Many people told me I'm weird and it's hard to be a good person if you want to be wealthy. I did not believe that. I lived with honor since I was young and never took advantage of other people even I had a chance.
In 2015, I had an opportunity to do business with a government company in an African country by a good deed that our family had done for a whole life. My life proved that people could achieve their dream by living with honor and good deeds.
Nowadays, people around the globe suffer from capitalism and materialism. Throughout my life, I have found the key factors to help people succeed in life. Those are mindfulness, a suitable environment, and opportunity. However, our world is dominated by materialism and capitalism, so it's too hard to educate or spread this knowledge to people on a large scale. Until web3 came, I decided to dedicate my time and resources to learning decentralized technology since the year of 2017 and hope that I could build something for people who lack opportunity or do not find meaning in life.
Finding a co-founder was challenging since I didn't know how to code. Until early 2020, I decided to learn coding by myself, create prototypes, and convince some of my friends working as developers to join the team.
If we are in the web2 era, it would be almost impossible to do this project. Even though we have five founders with skills, not all of us can live without money. But web3 change everything.
If we can build a community for people who share the same value and dreams, it could be possible for us to have human resources like a big public company and give us the power to do anything. We can create a mechanic to reward people who contribute or work for our project with DAO and governance tokens. Our community will help develop this project together. When our platform creates revenue, everyone will get a fair share, for instance, the fee from the marketplace, advertising, or a fee from our future products and services. Regarding to the ETH we receive from the first sale, we will save 50% for our project development, 25% for our founder's salary, and 25% for community building and governance token liquidity pool. But how can we reward people if we don't have money?
Since 2017, I have been researching NFT PFP and games. There are many ways to produce money, but most are Ponzi schemes. Hence I want to find a new way to incentivize people who contribute to our project. Aside from advertising, microtransaction, and NFT market fee, there should be other ways to create value for society to gain money. One of our founders, "Rubbadiatar," experienced in developing a game, has a dream project inspired by his childhood game called "Black and white," Monster rancher, and Pokémon, where you can train the monster to fight uniquely. So we could monetize the community training business model if we develop it successfully.
So we divide our project into three phases: short, medium, and long phrases.
The short phase is to develop a feature that consumes low resources or take short time in develop, which is a socializing tool similar to a private social network platform. For example, you can edit the story of each gladiator you own and customize that page similar to how you do with your Facebook; you can even advertise yourself in this space.
We also empower our NFT holders to use our Gladiaxy avatar to create content on social media. If you have a software called Spine.
You can create an animation for your gladiator or use an animation that we created by downloading the file from our GitHub. We are working on how to deliver the file to our Gladiaxy owner. Right now, our rigged avatars can only use on the Spine software, which is designed for game development, so the application is not free. If you don't buy the application, you can only play with our avatar by creating a new animation for your gladiator but will not be able to export the animation video to other video edit programs. We are finding a solution to this issue.
The medium phase is a feature that takes time and resources but is possible even if we cannot sell much.
The first feature is Private space. It is similar to an NFT wallet that shows a room to decorate with your NFTs.
The second feature is a mini-game. It will be a battle arena card game where you can see your gladiator fight by using cards derive from your NFT.
For a long phase, we plan to create a 3D virtual world for 2D NFT. You can read more detail in the Virtual world for 2D NFT
The last feature is the AI training game. This would take more than two years. We will start by gathering opinions from our community and exploring this model's possibility in Q4 2022.
We also plan to create a tool to help people in our community who have their dream projects be able to archive their dream by developing a derivative project or investing in a new one together.
All details are subject to change when our DAO is fully functional. The community could change our mission, but our vision should be the same.
